What goes wrong

Your garden's untapped potential

Most gardens evolve gradually, often resulting in borders that feel neglected, disjointed, or difficult to maintain. A successful scheme requires an understanding of soil, aspect, and how plants behave together over time.

CAN transforms these spaces, replacing underperforming borders with thoughtful planting schemes tailored to your garden's specific conditions.

Common situations we help with
  • Tired or overgrown borders that need refreshing
  • New-build gardens with poor soil and blank spaces
  • Collections of plants that don't quite work together
  • Gardens that feel incomplete or lack a clear plan
  • Spaces you want to develop in stages over time

All of these have practical, site-specific solutions.

Design philosophy

Every garden has its own conditions

The play of light, the health of the soil, and the spirit of the space. We don't fight the elements; we lean into them to create gardens that feel like they've always belonged.

We design planting that holds together over time. Structure first, then layering, then the details that carry it through the seasons. Each plant is chosen for how it performs in that specific place and how it sits with everything around it.

The result is a garden that feels settled, balanced and intentional. Not just on the day it is planted, but year after year.

What we do

Design, planting, and everything in between

CAN handles every part of a planting project. The design decisions, the plants themselves, the work on the ground. There is nothing to coordinate and no one else to brief. One practice, one conversation, one finished result.

  • Planting design

Every scheme is designed from scratch for the specific garden it goes into. The conditions, the aspect, the light, and what is already in the ground.

  • Planting

Professional planting by the people who designed the scheme. Organic feeds and treatments only, high on-site standards throughout.

  • Light landscaping

Where a project calls for it, CAN also undertakes light structural work as part of the planting scheme. Raised bed construction, for example.

Available as optional additions

  • Bed mulching on completion
  • Quarterly maintenance visits, for beds CAN has planted
  • A bespoke printed maintenance guide, so you can keep the beds as intended
  • A garden that looks considered, because it was

Every plant chosen for your specific conditions.

  • Borders you'll be proud to show off

Professional-grade expertise, without the overhead of a full garden commission.

  • The whole thing handled

Design, plants, labour. Nothing left for you to manage.

This is right for you if
  • Your borders are tired, overgrown, or never quite worked
  • You have a new plot that needs structure and planting from scratch
  • You want the design, plants and labour handled and done

Ready when you are

Not sure where
to start? That's fine.

Most people aren't sure what's needed until we take a look. A brief description and a couple of photos are all it takes. We'll come back with a clear reading of your space and what we think the planting could achieve. No obligation, no sales call.
